CT: Beebe Pond and Haley Farm

Soooo we hit 100 finishing up our trek through Haley Farm SP. The
gate to the tunnel mentioned is not going to be locked because
someone ripped it off the hinges. Also the state is practicing
budgetary negligence these days and there's a paper sign stating
that due to funds the state won't be touching that park, so keep it
nice. The Bike Route signs are GONE, taken down I guess. Apparently
it costs money to leave signs on existing poles??? soapbox>

We toured Beebe Pond and the Celestial Motion series. All boxes were
very nice! The first and third boxes need new log-books and are
over-filled. The second bo need a new ink pad because the top is
shattered for some reason and there's gold ink all over the place.

Thanks for the neat locales at both locations!!!

-Steve, Heidi, and Madras (The source of the muddy back seat in my
expedition!)

Exactly! Beebe Pond is on Route 215 in Groton, between the boroughs
of Groton Long Point and Mystic. A nice (rocky!) hike. You will
find the clues under "Celestial Motion" in Groton. I'd reserve about
3-4 hours and do Haley Farm, Beebe Pond and then drive to Bluff
Point for the box there. You can walk from Haley to Bluff bu its
an extra 2 1/4 miles or so round trip, so plan accordingly!

GREAT views at Haley Farm SP this time of year. It has not leafed
out so its warm out but still can see the water from Canopy Rock and
the Picnic Spot LB.
